A British court has ordered Apple to post a notice on its website and run ads in major British media citing the court ruling that Samsung did not copy the iPad.
In the ruling on Wednesday, Judge Colin Birss of the British Patent Court ordered the California-based firm to post the ruling on its British website for six months and also run ads about the ruling in newspapers and magazines, including the Financial Times and the Daily Mail.
A lawyer for Apple was miffed. "No company likes to refer to a rival on its website," he said, adding it was tantamount to "advertising for Samsung."
Apple has already appealed the ruling.
On July 9, the British court ruled that Samsung's Galaxy Tab did not copy Apple's design. Judge Birss said Samsung's tablets were unlikely to be confused with the iPad because they are "not as cool."
