The story revolves around in a Virtual Reality Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (VRMMORPG) called Sword Art Online (SAO). A virtual reality helmet called Nerve Gear stimulates the player's senses via their brain in which they can experience and control their in-game characters with their minds. Players logged in to the game, trapped and they were unable to log out. Until they informed by the creator of SAO that if they wish to be free and log out of the game, they must reach the 100th floor of the game's tower and defeat the final boss. However, if players die in the game, they will also die in the real world. Kirito, a skilled player and the protagonist of SAO, is determined to beat the game. As the story goes, Kirito eventually befriends a female player named Asuna who becomes his partner and lover. After the duo discover the identity of the creator's avatar in SAO, they confront and defeat him, freeing themselves and the other players from the game.
