[/quote] I've finished the first season. It's true that SAO's story is way appealing than AW but I think the latter's story line ain't that bad. I think it didn't become verypopular because the male protagonist of the story is sooooo fugly. His avatar isn't that awesome either (aside from the fact that he's the only flying avatar). He'll prolly shine in later episodes (if there's gon be a new season) It's just funny because in one episode of AW, it mentioned that the "NervGear" is the predecessor of the neurolinker.
