Robert Pattinson Hates Being Called R-Patz!
Robert Pattinson likes lots of things: the guitar, girlfriend Kristen Stewart, getting into drunken arguments with Grammy winners. Something he doesn't like so much? His ubiquitous nickname.
Speaking to The Guardian recently, Pattinson revealed something major during an aside as he talked about making the leap from Twilight to meatier, more dramatic roles (a la his star turn in David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis).
"When I got this part, every single article that came out was, 'R-Patz's struggle for credibility!; I don't understand who invented that thing, 'R-Patz,'" Pattinson, 26, shared. "I want to strangle them."
He isn't the only A-lister who finds his public nickname less-than-endearing. Earlier this year, Scarlett Johansson spoke to USA Today about her intense dislike for the moniker "ScarJo."
"Oh, it's awful," The Avengers star told the paper. "It's a laziness . . . People can't actually say the whole name? It's just bizarre . . . so Cate Blanchett is not, like, 'CaBla'? Why is that? Why do I have to get stuck with [ScarJo]?"
