What is sleep paralysis?
Sleep paralysis consists of a period of inability to perform voluntary movements either at sleep onset (called hypnogogic or predormital form) or upon awakening (called hypnopompic or postdormtal form).
Sleep paralysis may also be referred to as isolated sleep paralysis, familial sleep paralysis, hynogogic or hypnopompic paralysis, predormital or postdormital paralysis

I've read somewhere that the 'spiritual' reason for sleep paralysis is that your soul is away from your body. But I haven't encountered this kind of paralysis.
I had it once and in all honesty, I thought I was gonna die. I was really unable to move no matter how hard I tried, I tried to shout so my sister could hear me but I couldn't, my heartbeat became faster and faster After a long struggle, I don't know how, but I was able to move my limbs and became fully awake after that
i experienced sleep paralysis once, it happened last year
i thought i was dreaming but i knew in my mind that i was awake, my eyes were half open but my body wasnt responding. it was scary
tit would be cool though if it lasted a bit longer, it might have if only i didnt panic
I experienced this one many times. I thought someone hears me shouting for help but the truth is, I am really not shouting and still sleeping. I feel my body cannot move and I thought I am awake and is in need of help but no one can hear me, this scares me often
