Our messaging system already has notifications and even a pop-up dialog box, so notifs on what?

In the User CP there's a "Quoted Posts" there. It shows the people who quoted your post, so it seems like you see the one who has mentioned you since we talk here through quoting.

^ In addition to what TPAM said you can see posts wherein ppl mentioned you in le user cp. Though it won't work if they did not put the '@' symbol before your username.
