Man legally changes name to Tyrannosaurus Rex
YORK, Nebraska (WKOW) -- A man in Nebraska is now Tyrannosaurus Rex.
The York News-Times reports the 23-year-old legally changed his name Monday to Tyrannosaurus Rex Joseph Gold. He was born Tyler Gold.
Judge Alan Gless let Gold change his name after he said the man had gone through the proper legal channels to do so. The judge asked Gold if he wanted a new name so he could hide from creditors or law enforcement, and Gold said no.
In the public filing, Gold said the new name was "cooler." He says "as an entrepreneur, name recognition is important and the new name is more recognizable." The newspaper report does not describe his line of business.
