Game of Thrones is a hit HBO series starring a massive group of incredible actors. Its an American medieval fantasy that is an adaption of [i]A Song of Ice and Fire[/i], [b]George R. R. Martin[/b]'s series of fantasy novels, the first of which is titled [b]A Game of Thrones[/b]. Its a story of Seven Noble families (the Starks, the Lannisters, the Baratheon, Greyjoy, Tully, Arryn, and Tyrell) and their battle for control over the land of Westeros.[b] Lord Ned Stark[/b] (Eddard Stark played by Sean Bean) leads the first season's cast serving as the [i]"Hand of the King"[/i] of his good friend [b]Robert Baratheon[/b] (played by Mark Addy), the King of Westeros. Lord Stark's wife Catelyn Stark (born a Tully) is played by Michelle Fairley. Their children are Robb (Richard Madden), Sansa (Sophie Turner), Arya (Maisie Williams), Bran (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) and Rickon (Art Parkinson). The King's wife [b]Queen Cersei Lannister Cersei[/b] played by Lena Headley. Cersei has two brothers: her twin, Ser Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), and the clever dwarf Tyrion (Peter Dinklage). Cersei's oldest child is Prince Joffrey Baratheon (Jack Gleeson), and his bodyguard is Sandor "The Hound" Clegane (Rory McCann). [b]First Season Plot[/b] [spoiler]On the first season, Queen Cersei was caught by Bran (son of Ed Stark) of incestous treason with his younger brother Ser Jaime Lannister whom which has a big part in the Queen's childrens' life. To keep their secret, Jaime pushed Bran of the tower which lead him to fall into a coma and forgetting his memories. Ed's son lived but was unable to remember what has happened to him or what he had found out about the Lannister's affair with each other. This secret was discovered by Jon Arryn, Eddard Stark and Stannis Baratheon. Ed Stark gave him an opportunity to leave the king and Westeros before he broke the news to King Robert. Cersei never gave in to Ed's offer which lead to Ed's downfall. He was then accused of Treason after the Queen's successfully planned of King Robert's assasination. As the queen and the council's wishes Ed Stark was supposed to be stripped of his rank and banished from the Kingdom but after King Robert's death, Prince Joffrey (Queen's oldest son) took over the throne and ordered to publicly beheaded Ed Stark which caused a war between the Lannisters and the Starks.[/spoiler] The first season aired on April 17, 2011. The second season debuted last April 1,2012, after nine days, it was confirmed that the show will have their third season. I wasnt an avid fan of this since im not that much into plots which has a lot of characters and stories to swallow in but the political plot and twists of this story is incredible, apart from other Kingdom and Power series such as The Borgias and Tudors, this has a lot of mysteries and secrets to discover.
