Mai nicknames Kazuya Shibuya "Naru" because of his narcissistic attitude, and the nickname is generally adopted by all those who come to eventually work with SPR: a Buddhist monk, Houshou Takigawa; a shrine maiden, Ayako Matsuzaki; a famous psychic, Masako Hara; and Catholic Priest, John Brown. Ghost Hunt also explores the paranormal abilities of the characters, particularly focusing on Mai's "latent psychic abilities," demonstrated by her dreaming about information relevant to their cases. She is often joined in her dreams by someone who she assumes to be Naru acting as a spirit guide, but who is later revealed to be someone quite unexpected.[/spoiler] [hr] A good anime to watch if you like paranormal investigations and mysteries. It runs for about 25 episodes. The story is quite good leaving you to think and speculate every episode. But it's like kinda [i]bitin[/i] in the ending and it will make you to want more. Toshio Ozaki dean of the only hospital in Sotoba, begins to investigate and discovers there are supernatural presences at work, namely vampires, who are called shiki, translated in English as "corpse demon".[/spoiler] [hr] My friend told me to watch this because it's a nice anime and my friend didn't fail me. It wasn't totally outright scary or anything to me but there are some moments that made me creep. I don't know if it would scare you enough but have a try to watch it. I like on how the characters changed when it came to dealing with the Risen. Another thing that I like on this anime is its soundtrack and the character appearance. As for the story, it has a slow start. If you want to see how good this anime is, start watching it around episode 7 or 8 You will be left with presumptions revealed only in the next episodes. For the ending, I'm quite satisfied watching it.
