I lost a little weight by cutting off all the junk foods I used to ate (potato chips, soda, candies, etc) and I drank a lot of water and moved a lot as well, like I took those 10 minute walk to the terminal and another 10 minutes going back home. It's all in the food, actually. You also don't need to count calories. Just eat healthier foods. Lots and lots of veggies and fruits. All of those things we hear from the elderly, I think those are the effective ones.
